Three gentlemen who received wheelchairs at our outreach last year and have become members of this church. This church provided volunteers last year to help at the outreach. This is what it si all about, people finding Jesus Christ and a church home in which to worship and serve.
This church is on a hill. The people in the wheelchairs come down the hill to attend church but cannot make it back up the hill and need to be transported via taxi back home. This is a very steep dirt road that church members must walk up to get to church.
Hurricane (Lynn) Jarvis, with Pastor Abram translating.
This is a church of about 30 people. This team consisted of Andrea Douglas, Victoria Hargis, Michael Eggleston, Dan Dollar and June Gemino. They were invited to share with the congregation. The picture is inside of the church with the team and part of the congregation.
Mark McElroy was given the opportunity to preach at this church. His topic was forgiveness. The team included Mark, Leslie McElroy, Victoria Hargis, Cliff Hesterman, Carmen Mamani and Jackeline Lugo Rojas. This is Mark preaching and Pastor Abram translating.

Here is Mark McElroy adjusting a wheelchair to a patient's needs.
This is Juana. She is Chequean. Take a close look at the cane she had been using. It was made of two pieces of stick with a white cloth handle. She told the team that she prayed for someone to come help her every day. And we are the answer to her prayer.
This is Silverio. He is 34 years old. He became a parapalygic in 2002. His wife deserted him and took his children. He was left alone, until a brother in the faith took him in and made him a part of his family. With the use of a wheelchair he will be able to work as a vendor in order to make an income.
This gentleman heard the salvation message through the use of a gospel bracelet and gave his life to the Lord. He was overwhelmed by the gift of a Bible.
This how we begin our day at the outreach. The team joins with the Corazones Unidos volunteers in a time of pray and worship songs. It is a Circle of Friendship.
As a mother waits for her child’s wheelchair to be fitted for him, Corazones Unidos volunteer Jackeline Lugo Rojas shares the Bible with her.
The team of Andrea Douglas, Bob & Debbie Brooks, and Cliff Hesterman work on the chair for the little boy.
Victoria Hargis shares the gospel message with a gentleman using a gospel bracelet.
This lady received a wheelchair and a new cane (the red one). When seating specialist Dan Dollar asked the lady for the old cane (which had been made from a metal tubing) she said no. "The new cane is for Church. The old one is for everyday."
Dan Dollar teaching a lady how to properly use her new crutches.
Dan Dollar and Debbie Brooks worked on a lady this morning. She told Debbie that she got up at 4:00 a.m. for prayer and she will now add our team to her prayers.
Carmen Mamani (a Peruvian seating specialist) fitted a little boy who was 10 years old. His name is Pedro. Pedro is the size of a 6 year old. He is verbally limited. As Hurricane and Gloria Jarvis were working on the chair and walker for the little boy Carmen was able to share with the father about the existence of God. She was also able to share with him what a blessing this little boy was. After much discussion the father accepted the Lord as his personal savior. It was then time to show Pedro how to use the walker. Pedro was able to take his first steps because of the gift of the walker. He had never walked previously. This was a miracle of salvation and the miracle of freedom from being bond by his disability.
After this lady received her wheelchair, her husband was excited that he will be able to take his wife to the park.
This lady broke her leg 6-7 years ago. She has been confined since then. The lady was exited because she will now have the freedom to go out.
The team of Elisa Smith, Kitty Thweatt and Jackeline Lugo Rojas with the completed chair for a special little boy.
A sweet little girl looks at her hero, Larry Raymond. Larry and Mike Eggleston fitted her for this specialty chair.
Another happy patient fitted by Karen Younkin, Gene Haury and Leslie McElroy.
The team of Debbie Schrodi and Cliff Hesterman completed this chair for the sweet little boy.
This man is a candy vendor at a school. He came in with a chair that he had received last year. However it was bent and very wobbly. After looking through the available chairs seating specialist June Gemino and mechanic Mark McElroy decided the best thing to do was to repair his current chair. Thus the end result a chair that is strong, and secure to meet his needs.
This little boy’s name is Wilson. He is the grandson of one of the wheelchair recipients. He is now an apprentice wheelchair mechanic being trained by Mike Eggleston.
We celebrated 3 birthday today. Dan Dollar's birthday is today (Friday), Gloria Jarvis and Kitty Thweatt's birthdays are Saturday.
